NEURA Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger in Metzingen and has developed into one of Europe's most respected robotics companies. In June 2026, the company announced a Series C funding round of up to 1.4 billion US dollars, involving Amazon, Nvidia, and Qualcomm. The company valuation stood at approximately 7 billion US dollars.
The portfolio includes the humanoid 4NE1 as well as its smaller variant 4NE1 Mini, the cognitive cobot MAiRA with integrated object recognition, and since early 2026 a quadruped robot. MAiRA is considered the first commercially positioned cobot to integrate cognitive capabilities such as environmental perception into its design. A partnership with Bosch is intended to advance the industrialization of the humanoids.
NEURA Robotics is Germany's most prominent company in humanoid robotics and positions itself as a European counterweight to US and Chinese competitors. According to Handelsblatt, the Series C round is regarded as the largest funding round ever completed by a German company. The collaboration with TU Munich at TUM RoboGym underscores the company's research commitment.
