Overview

With the 4NE1 Mini, NEURA Robotics from Metzingen brings its own humanoid platform into a significantly smaller format. The robot measures 132 centimeters and is aimed at schools, universities, research laboratories, and development teams — environments where mobility, safety, and a low entry price are more important than maximum payload capacity. The model was unveiled at CES 2026, and reservations have been open through the manufacturer's website since then.

Construction

The Mini adopts the design language of the larger 4NE1 but operates with 25 degrees of freedom. Two configurations are available. The standard variant is designed for movement, speech, and interaction and forgoes gripper hands. The Pro version adds dexterous hands with twelve degrees of freedom each, enabling genuine manipulation tasks. The manufacturer cites artificial skin for proximity detection and omnidirectional 3D perception as key sensory features. Stair climbing is still in development at NEURA; the robot handles flat and slightly uneven surfaces.

Technology and AI

Both variants are fully integrated with Neuraverse, the platform through which NEURA distributes third-party capabilities and enables robots to share knowledge with each other. Available interfaces include Wi-Fi 6, Ethernet, a Python SDK, and ROS 2 connectivity. The Pro version additionally includes a C++ SDK, access to the digital twin, teleoperation, and integration with the NEURA Gym training offering.

Market Significance

Price-wise, the Mini starts at 19'999 EUR for the standard version and 29'999 EUR for the Pro variant, both excluding taxes and shipping. For a research humanoid from European manufacturing, this is a remarkably low entry point and clearly targets the segment previously dominated by Chinese providers. For universities and training facilities in German-speaking regions, this device is one of the few realistically accessible humanoids with manufacturer support in the area.
