Overview

NEURA Robotics from Metzingen is primarily known in Switzerland for its humanoid 4NE-1. At CES 2026, the company also presented a quadruped that has been available for reservation on its own website ever since. It expands the portfolio downward: smaller, more affordable, and designed for terrain where a bipedal robot reaches its limits.

Design and Construction

The device stays under one meter in height and carries approximately 22 kilograms of payload. Four legs with encapsulated joint modules enable it to traverse stairs, gravel, and rough terrain. The design follows the company's visual language: light outer shells over dark joint sections, with a flat sensor head instead of a face.

Technology and AI

The robot operates with multi-sensor fusion and 360-degree surround vision, autonomously maps its surroundings, and can also be controlled by voice commands. It connects to Neuraverse, the company's proprietary platform, where capabilities can be loaded like apps and robots can be represented as digital twins. For developers, ROS 2 and SDKs for C++ and Python are available, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet, plus a teleoperation interface.

Market Significance

Few quadruped manufacturers disclose a price. NEURA does: 50,000 euros excluding taxes, reservable for 100 euros. This establishes a benchmark in a segment typically dominated by quote-based offerings and clearly positions the device above Chinese consumer models and below heavy-duty platforms. For Swiss operators, proximity is also relevant—Metzingen is less than three hours from Zurich.
