MAB Robotics from Poland is the leading manufacturer of quadruped robots in Central Eastern Europe. The company is ISO 9001 certified and has specialized in an environment that few other providers serve: sewers, tunnels and flooded terrain.
The Honey Badger 5.0 has a body of just fifty by thirty centimeters, weighs seventeen kilograms and can carry up to five. The construction is completely sealed and waterproof to IP66 standard, allowing the robot to run completely underwater. By design, it carries no fixed sensors, but instead provides two onboard computers, an open architecture and proprietary interfaces for third-party sensors. A self-righting algorithm gets it back on its feet after a fall.
The Honey Badger demonstrates that a position can be found in a category dominated by large providers if you select an environment that other devices simply cannot access. Inspections are conducted up to one hundred meters underground. The company does not disclose a price.
