Xiaomi was founded in Beijing in 2010 and is globally recognized as a manufacturer of smartphones and electronic devices. Robotics activities were consolidated into a separate subsidiary in 2023. CyberDog and CyberOne are positioned primarily as demonstration and research platforms and not for the mass market.
CyberDog 2 (approximately 8.9 kg) leverages proprietary CyberGear microactuators and 19 high-precision sensors, including LiDAR and Intel RealSense D430. The bipedal CyberOne (177 cm, 52 kg, 21 DOF) can distinguish 45 emotions thanks to its proprietary vocal emotion recognition model and is designed for 0.5 ms response time per joint. Both products were developed internally and utilize Xiaomi's extensive semiconductor and sensor expertise.
Xiaomi's robotics projects primarily serve technology demonstration and brand positioning in the field of future-oriented technology. With group revenue of approximately 50 billion US dollars in 2024, Xiaomi has the resources to conduct robotics research long-term without immediate sales pressure. In the market for research quadrupeds, CyberDog competes with platforms such as the Unitree Go2.
