Leju Robotics was founded in Shenzhen in 2016 and emerged from the environment of the Harbin Institute of Technology. The company initially built a broad customer base through educational robots before moving into full-scale humanoids. In October 2025, Leju closed a pre-IPO round of approximately 1.5 billion renminbi, equivalent to around 207 million US dollars. A listing on the Shanghai STAR Market is planned.
The AELOS series comprises small educational humanoids 30 to 40 centimeters tall with up to 22 degrees of freedom, deployed from primary school through university. The full-size Kuavo stands 170 centimeters tall, moves at 4.6 kilometers per hour, and can jump 20 centimeters high. It runs on KaihongOS, an operating system based on Huawei's HarmonyOS, and supports imitation learning as well as AI model integration. In November 2025, a Kuavo carried the torch at China's 15th National Games.
Leju ranks among China's most experienced humanoid manufacturers, with nearly a decade of experience in bipedal robotics. Partnerships with Huawei, Alibaba, and Haier, as well as a cooperation agreement announced in 2026 with German industrial group Schaeffler, underscore growing international relevance.
