Fourier Intelligence was founded in Shanghai in 2015 and has been known as Fourier since July 2024. The company began with exoskeleton and rehabilitation robots, which are now deployed in over 2,000 institutions across more than 40 countries. In parallel, Fourier has built a line of humanoid robots with the GR series.
At the heart of the humanoid robots is the Fourier Smart Actuator 2.0 (FSA), a proprietary joint actuator with integrated sensors. The GR-2 measures 175 cm, weighs 63 kg, and features 53 degrees of freedom, including tactile hands with twelve degrees of freedom each. The GR-3, presented in 2025, is designed for social and care applications. For rehabilitation robots, Fourier draws on years of clinical experience.
With the GR-1, Fourier delivered China's first humanoid robot in small-scale production to universities and research institutions in 2023. The combination of an established rehabilitation business and growing humanoid division, along with backing from SoftBank Vision Fund II and Saudi Aramco, gives the company a solid foundation in the international market.
