Overview

The GR-3 is the first humanoid robot designated as a Care-Bot by Fourier Intelligence from China and was presented in August 2025. Unlike the industrial-focused predecessors of the GR series, it is designed for emotional interaction and social companionship.

Design

The robot stands 165 centimeters tall and weighs 71 kilograms. It features up to 55 degrees of freedom, with each arm contributing seven and each leg contributing six. The batteries can be swapped during operation, with a runtime of approximately three hours.

Technology and AI

The GR-3 is designed for natural movement and empathetic interaction, and is intended to recognize and respond to emotions. The dexterous hands are available with either six or twelve degrees of freedom.

Market Significance

Fourier positions the GR-3 for deployment in households, public spaces, educational institutions, and clinical environments. The company thereby focuses on care and companionship, a field that is gaining increasing attention in the robotics market.
