About the Company

Overview

Sunday Robotics from Mountain View was founded by Stanford roboticists Tony Zhao and Cheng Chi, known for influential work in robot learning. In November 2025, the company emerged from stealth with the home robot Memo, backed by Benchmark and Conviction.

Technology and Products

Memo is deliberately not a biped, but a wheeled robot with soft silicone coating that loads dishwashers, folds socks and makes espresso. The proprietary ACT-1 model is trained on approximately 10 million household episodes recorded by volunteers using the patented Skill Capture Glove across over 500 homes, entirely without teleoperation at the customer's location.

Market Significance

In March 2026, Sunday raised 165 million US dollars led by Coatue, reaching a valuation of 1.15 billion. The beta program with selected families begins end of 2026, with general release planned after the testing phase.
