Reflex Robotics was founded in 2022 in New York by MIT graduates with experience at Tesla, Boston Dynamics, and Amazon. The team of around 19 employees develops mobile humanoid robots that are ready for deployment within 60 minutes and continuously improve through human demonstration data.
The Reflex humanoid is a wheeled upper-body robot that deliberately differs from purely bipedal designs. This approach reduces costs and complexity and is intended to enable production at scale for under 50,000 USD. The robot learns new tasks such as container transfer, picking, and cardboard disposal through brief human instruction.
The pilot partnership with GXO Logistics launched in 2024, one of the world's largest contract logistics providers, puts Reflex in direct comparison with Agility Robotics and Apptronik. The 7 million USD seed investment from Khosla Ventures in 2024 lends credibility to the startup, although it is still in an early stage.
