PAL Robotics was founded in Barcelona in 2004, making it one of the longest-established European companies in the field of humanoid robotics. The company is independent, without external VC financing, and has built an extensive network in science and industry through approximately 60 EU research projects.
The product portfolio includes the industrial humanoid TALOS (175 cm, 95 kg, EtherCAT control), the service robot ARI for interaction in public environments, and the TIAGo series for research and service tasks. The StockBot performs RFID inventory solutions in retail stores and is in use at Decathlon. In 2025, the Kangaroo Pro followed as a new biped locomotion platform with arms. Series Elastic Actuators enable compliant, safe movements.
PAL Robotics is one of the few European manufacturers offering both research platforms and commercial service and industrial robots. Close collaboration with institutions such as LAAS-CNRS Toulouse and research partnerships with EPFL and ETH Zurich strengthen scientific credibility. The StockBot in Decathlon stores demonstrates that PAL can also succeed in retail deployment.
