Galbot AI, also known as Galaxy General, was founded in May 2023 in Beijing by Prof. He Wang of Peking University. The company relies on multimodal foundation models as the basis for autonomous humanoid robots. In 2026, Galbot AI closed a financing round of 300 million US dollars.
The core product Galbot G1 combines an omnidirectional wheeled base with a humanoid upper body and two dexterous robotic arms. The accompanying AI system AstraBrain controls autonomous processes such as medication dispensing in pharmacies. The G1 made its debut in January 2026 at the Chinese Spring Gala in front of approximately 679 million viewers.
Galbot AI belongs to the first wave of Chinese humanoid startups operating their robots in real-world environments. Deployment in over ten Beijing pharmacies and at Xuanwu Hospital around the clock demonstrates that the system goes beyond mere demonstrations. The company is one of the most closely watched new ventures in the Chinese robotics sector.
