The Galbot S1 is a wheel-based humanoid industrial robot from Beijing-based Galaxy General Robot, founded in 2023, operating under the Galbot brand. The S1 is designed as a heavy-load capable variant and is distinct from the semi-humanoid mobile manipulator G1 from the same manufacturer.

Design

The S1 operates on an omnidirectional chassis with speeds of up to 1.5 meters per second. The two arms together continuously support a payload of 50 kilograms with an arm reach of 1050 millimeters. Precise specifications regarding the S1's height, weight, and degrees of freedom are not clearly documented.

Technology and AI

The robot navigates purely visually and avoids obstacles via three LiDAR sensors with 40 lines each all around. Runtime is eight hours; an automatic switchover between two batteries enables round-the-clock continuous operation. The proprietary AstraBrain architecture serves as the AI foundation.

Market Significance

The S1 became known in early 2026 and is already in use in production at CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer. A price for the S1 is not documented. For comparison, the related G1 is priced at approximately 87,000 to 97,000 US dollars.
