Overview

With the TM Xplore I, Techman Robot showcased its first proprietary humanoid platform in March 2026 at NVIDIA GTC in San José. The Taiwanese manufacturer has previously been known primarily for collaborative robot arms with integrated vision processing and is part of the Quanta Group. The robot was developed in collaboration with Quanta Cloud Technology and NVIDIA and is considered the first humanoid designed and manufactured in Taiwan.

Design

Techman combines a humanoid upper body with a wheeled base instead of legs. This provides greater stability in factory halls and eliminates the complex balancing control required for bipedal systems. According to the manufacturer, the platform features more than 22 joint degrees of freedom. A quick-change system on the arm allows tools and grippers to be swapped without extensive reconfiguration.

Technology and AI

An NVIDIA Jetson Thor serves as the computational core, handling AI calculations directly onboard. Techman employs a multimodal vision-language-action model that integrates sensor data, derives action steps from it, and allows the robot to navigate autonomously. For preparation, the company uses NVIDIA Isaac Sim and FoundationStereo, first validating complex movement paths in the digital twin before testing on the actual machine. The entire system operates under the company's guiding principle See, Think, Act.

Market Significance

Techman targets the Xplore I at manufacturing areas where precision matters: semiconductor production, electronics assembly, and automotive manufacturing. For Taiwan, this model signals an important shift, as the island has previously supplied mainly components and computational power for the humanoid wave, not the robots themselves. The company has not yet published detailed specifications regarding height, weight, payload capacity, and runtime.
