DroidUp (officially: Zhuoyide) was founded in 2021 in Shanghai. Founder Qingdu Li brings, according to his own statements, 20 years of experience in humanoid robotics research. The company is headquartered in Zhangjiang Robotics Valley in Shanghai and works on two distinct robot pathways: biomechanically optimized locomotion platforms and lifelike companion robots.
The Walker 2 won the bronze medal in 2025 at the Beijing Humanoid Half-Marathon event; its successor Walker 3 forms the movement skeleton of the companion robot Moya. The Moya is 165 cm tall, weighs 32 kg, and features 25 degrees of freedom in the face for micro-expressions such as smiling, winking, and nodding. The silicone skin is maintained at body temperature. DroidUp claims a gait similarity of 92 percent compared to human movement; the price is around 173,000 US dollars.
DroidUp is exemplary of a segment that has received little attention so far: social and emotional robots for companionship and entertainment. With the Moya, the company is entering a niche field dominated by no major manufacturer. Commercial availability is planned for end of 2026.
