Overview

Moya is a biomimetic companion robot by Shanghai startup DroidUp, which introduced it in January 2026 as its flagship product to date. Market launch is planned for late 2026, initially for care and educational institutions.

Construction

Moya is approximately 165 centimeters tall and weighs around 32 kilograms. Soft, silicone-based skin over yielding padding mimics human tactile sensation, including an internal chest cavity. The face alone features 25 degrees of freedom for subtle expressions like smiling and winking.

Technology and AI

Embedded heating elements maintain the artificial skin at a body temperature of 32 to 36 degrees. Cameras in the eyes enable real-time perception. When walking, Moya achieves a 92 percent humanlike gait at approximately 0.83 meters per second, according to the manufacturer.

Market Significance

With a guideline price of approximately 173,000 USD, DroidUp targets care, rehabilitation, and education rather than factories. The company deliberately focuses on emotional closeness and warmth as a prerequisite for humanoid robots to find acceptance outside of industry.
