XPeng Robotics is the robotics division of listed Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng Inc., founded in 2020. The company develops the humanoid robot IRON, which is designed for series production. AI expertise from vehicle development flows directly into robotics.
The IRON (Next-Gen, 2025) is 178 cm tall, weighs 70 kg and features 82 degrees of freedom, with 22 per hand. A bionic spine, full-body soft skin with tactile sensors and a 3D-curved display on the head distinguish the robot. Solid-state batteries serve as the energy source. The AI system combines three parallel large language models (VLT, VLA, VLM) on XPeng's proprietary Turing chip with 2,250 TOPS.
XPeng Robotics is part of a listed group with established manufacturing and AI infrastructure, which represents an advantage over pure start-ups. The IRON SDK for external developers was released in November 2025. Series production is targeted by the end of 2026; distribution outside China has not been announced so far.
