Promobot from Russia built the Robo-C, the first series-produced android that could be ordered with the face of any real person. In 2019, the company made headlines with a public offer of 200,000 US dollars for the rights to a person's face and voice.
The Robo-C2 consists of a head and upper body without legs and stands on a pedestal. 18 parts move in the face, with the manufacturer specifying over 600 micro-expressions. The skin is silicone in human tone, complemented by a wig. The robot recognizes faces and speaks seven languages. Promobot provides no information on sensors, computing core, or mass.
The company's own product page now states multiple times that the humanoid project has ended and no further inquiries are being accepted. This makes Promobot primarily an instructive example: a technically functional android with interchangeable faces does not in itself constitute a viable business model. Press reports circulated prices between 20,000 and 50,000 US dollars.
