Holiday Robotics was founded in 2024 in Seoul by Song Ki-young, who previously built and sold SUALAB, a company specializing in industrial image processing. The company develops humanoids for real factory work and deliberately builds hardware, simulation, learning methods, and operating software in-house.
The only product to date is FRIDAY, a wheeled humanoid with 64 degrees of freedom, 40 of which are allocated to the gripper hands. Additional features include tactile sensors, back-drivable joints, 360-degree perception from cameras and lidar, and battery packs that can be swapped during operation. Instead of end-to-end control, the company pursues a vision-language-skill approach in which individual capabilities are tested separately and then combined into complex workflows. Additionally, Holiday operates its own simulation environment and a lab for building reusable skills.
In July 2026, Holiday raised approximately 105 million US dollars in a Series A round, the largest such round for a Korean start-up according to the company. Initial pilot projects are running privately with partners from the automotive, semiconductor, and logistics sectors. Commercialization is scheduled for the second half of 2026, initially with around one hundred units per year.
