Flourish was founded in January 2026 by Antoine Marcel and operates from San Francisco and Paris. The company made its public debut only at the end of September 2026, together with a Pre-Seed round from Families Fund, the amount of which was not disclosed. The target audience is unusually narrowly defined, and that is intentional: families lacking time in their daily lives. Rather than a universal assistant, Flourish wants to deliver a robot that reliably performs a handful of recurring household tasks.
The only product is called Flourish 1. The robot moves on a six-wheeled base, carries a height-adjustable upper body, and two arms with two-finger grippers, with a camera at each wrist and a small lidar near the ground. At approximately 110 centimeters tall and weighing about 20 kilograms, it remains lightweight, each arm can lift 1.5 kilograms, and the manufacturer specifies a runtime of up to twelve hours. Onboard computing is minimal: the robot contains a Raspberry Pi, with training and inference running in the cloud. The machine learns new tasks by demonstration through a smartphone app that uses the phone's motion sensors as an input device.
At USD 3,555, the Flourish 1 is in a price category where there have previously been no two-armed household robots. The first production run is limited to fifty numbered units, with delivery scheduled for December 2026. What makes this interesting is less the device itself than the bet behind it: cheap onboard computing plus cloud processing power instead of expensive onboard electronics. However, the manufacturer's specification of approximately 80 percent success rate for learned tasks also shows where the limits lie. In a household setting, that means every fifth attempt fails, and that is precisely what will determine whether a price signal becomes a real product.
