Tuesday Labs describes itself as a robotics lab and design studio based in New York City. The venture capital-funded company was founded and is led by Ros Shinkle, who previously worked as a roboticist at Boston Dynamics; backers include Y Combinator, among others.
The first product is Voxel Series-1, a bipedal household robot without its own head, whose yellow front panel serves as a face with two LED eyes. It has two arms with seven degrees of freedom each, simple grippers, Z-shaped legs, and stereo and wide-angle cameras; its movements are based on machine learning models trained from animations.
With Voxel, Tuesday Labs targets private households, placing emphasis on a clearly readable, likeable figure rather than human similarity. The robot is still in prototype stage; according to reports, deliveries in the US are planned from 2028 onwards.
