Figure AI was founded in 2022 by Brett Adcock in Sunnyvale, California. The company develops universally deployable humanoid robots designed to work autonomously in industrial environments. In September 2025, Figure closed a Series C funding round of 1 billion US dollars and was valued at 39 billion dollars.
Figure has developed three robot generations to date: Figure 01, Figure 02, and Figure 03. These include two iterations of the proprietary vision-language-action model Helix, which can control up to two robots simultaneously. Figure 02 was unveiled in 2024 and deployed in 2025 at the BMW Spartanburg plant, where it contributed to the manufacturing of over 30,000 vehicles.
Figure is considered one of the best-capitalized humanoid startups worldwide. The partnership with BMW ranks among the first genuine series deployments of a humanoid robot in the automotive industry. With its own manufacturing line (BotQ), the company plans to produce up to 12,000 robots per year.
