Clone Robotics is a robotics company based in Poland that builds exceptionally human-like androids. Instead of relying on rigid mechanics, it employs an artificial locomotor system made of polymer bones, ligaments, and muscles. The company first gained recognition for its highly realistic robotic hand.
At its core is a muscle technology in which artificial muscle fibers are moved via a hydraulic system. The full-body prototype Protoclone has more than 200 degrees of freedom. This is intended to lead to the production android Clone Alpha, for which reservations are already possible.
Clone Robotics pursues a unique path in the industry because it focuses not on robust industrial technology, but on creating a faithful replica of the human body. This makes the company a widely noticed outsider among humanoid robot developers.
