GENISOM AI was founded in Beijing in December 2023 and operates a second location in Suzhou. Unlike many young robotics companies, the company does not rely on spectacular prototypes but on production volumes. According to information from fall 2026, over 10,000 robots have been delivered, and the company cites more than 15,000 produced units on its own website. This makes GENISOM AI one of the few providers that actually manufactures four-legged robots in series.
The product range extends from small research platforms to industrial machines. The L1 series is designed for teaching and research and can be equipped with NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, Livox Mid-360 Lidar, RealSense depth cameras, GNSS, and cellular connectivity, plus variants L1-W and L2. The L1 Maker, unveiled in October 2026, is the kit version with twelve degrees of freedom, eight kilograms continuous load capacity, and climbing ability up to 40 degrees. At the top is the M1 series with 30 kilograms continuous load capacity, IP67 protection rating, and up to five hours runtime, powered by proprietary joint modules such as the P85MAX-S with 180 newton-meters peak torque. On the software side, there are the RoamerX navigation solution, the open-source simulation environment MATRiX, and the humanoid NE01.
GENISOM AI's leverage lies in manufacturing. Because joints, platforms, and software come from in-house, the company can offer the same robot as an educational tool, as a research platform, and as a work machine. The L1 Maker takes this concept to its conclusion by having the customer assemble and calibrate the machine themselves, using series parts and series quality. For universities, this eliminates the jump from training equipment to product, and the company engages early those people who will later make procurement decisions. GENISOM AI does not publish prices.
