Feather Robotics was founded in 2025 in East Palo Alto, California. The company is led by Hoa Duc Mai as CEO, previously at Kind Humanoid, and Parsa Bakhtiari, who previously worked at Tesla. The company first appeared publicly at the end of September 2026. Its starting point is a simple observation: many labs and development teams don't need a humanoid with legs, but an affordable machine with two dexterous arms that moves freely in space.
The only product is called Feather and is a dual-arm robot on a holonomic wheeled base. Two arms with seven joints each and one meter in length sit on a lifting column that extends the robot from 120 to 180 centimeters. The computing unit can be a Jetson Nano, Jetson Orin AGX, or Jetson Thor; the head camera can be a Zed 2i, Zed X, or Zed X Mini. End effectors are also configurable—either six-degree-of-freedom hands or parallel grippers. This very flexibility is the business model: the customer pays only for the computing power and sensors actually needed.
With an introductory price of USD 29990, Feather significantly undercuts most dual-arm systems in this size class. According to the company, over one million US dollars in revenue have already been generated, with orders being fulfilled on an ongoing basis. This makes the company one of the first Western providers to actually sell an open research platform in this price range. Competition comes from Hello Robot with Stretch, from Galaxea, and from a growing number of Chinese mobile robots with two arms.
