Overview

RIVR TWO is the second generation of the Zurich delivery robot and was introduced in early 2026, shortly before being acquired by Amazon. Despite its name, it is not an upgraded version but a completely new design with its own product page. The model is designed for mixed fleets that handle food deliveries and packages together.

Construction

The chassis remains wheeled-legged: four legs, each ending in a wheel, rolling along the route and walking over obstacles. New is the design language. The manufacturer describes a soft, rounded design with a small footprint that is meant to appear friendly rather than intimidating in pedestrian areas. The cargo compartment holds 55 liters.

Technology and AI

The real innovation lies in the handover. Loading occurs from above, delivery from below: the robot sits down and releases the package through a hatch in the floor. This eliminates the need for a lifting mechanism and makes delivery possible even when nobody is home. RIVR has not published any figures for dimensions, weight, speed, battery, and sensors; maximum speed is only described as faster than walking pace.

Market Significance

RIVR TWO is the model Amazon acquired the company for. It shows where development is heading: away from the technology demonstrator toward a device that doesn't stand out in residential neighborhoods and whose delivery process works without a recipient present. No price is listed; deployment runs through fleet partners.
