Overview

The VB2 is a human-sized humanoid robot by Lanxin Robotics, developed for demanding research and industrial trials. It builds on previous platforms from the manufacturer and brings improvements in mobility, manipulation, and system integration.

Design

The VB2 measures 580 by 480 by 1700 millimeters and moves on four omnidirectional wheels instead of legs. Its working range extends from approximately 0.4 to 2 meters in height, with ground clearance of 35 millimeters. The arms each have seven joints and can carry a load of five kilograms. Maximum speed is up to 1.2 meters per second, with battery life of four to six hours.

Technology and AI

For navigation, the VB2 relies on 3D laser SLAM. This positions it for real-world testing in controlled environments where it can reliably orient itself and execute tasks.

Market Significance

The VB2 complements Lanxin Robotics' humanoid lineup and is aimed at developers seeking a mobile platform for industry-adjacent experiments. Lanxin has also completed a Series C+ funding round in the three-digit millions of yuan.
