Overview

The Lynx M20 from DEEP Robotics was presented in May 2025 and combines legs with wheels. The manufacturer positions it as the world's first industrial-grade wheeled-legged robot for rough terrain. The series includes the M20, M20 Pro and M20S variants.

Construction

All three variants measure 82 by 43 by 57 centimeters; the M20 and Pro weigh 35 kilograms, the M20S weighs 36. Instead of feet, the legs are equipped with wheels. The passage width is fifty centimeters, lights are mounted front and rear, and the batteries in the M20S can be swapped during operation. Notable is the switchable leg configuration between front elbow and rear knee, which allows the robot to adapt to different terrain. Despite its capabilities, it can be carried by one person.

Technology and AI

On board are two to three eight-core industrial processors with sixteen gigabytes of RAM. Perception is handled by two Lidars with 96 channels each, covering 360 by 90 degrees and delivering around 860,000 points per second; the M20S has two Lidars with 128 channels and over 1.1 million points. Two wide-angle cameras are added. The robot overcomes steps up to twenty-five centimeters, individual obstacles up to eighty, and slopes up to forty-five degrees; the M20S even manages obstacles up to one meter. The protection rating is IP66, for the M20S IP67 with a temperature range down to minus 30 degrees.

Market Significance

DEEP Robotics does not publish a price. Interesting is the ratio of mass to performance: a device weighing 35 kilograms that takes an eighty-centimeter-high step and carries fifty kilograms peak load shifts the boundary of what is possible without heavy vehicles.
