Overview

AlphaBot 2 is the production model of the AlphaBot series from AI2 Robotics, a company founded in 2023 in Shenzhen. Unveiled in April 2025, the wheeled humanoid now operates in real production environments, particularly in semiconductor and automotive manufacturing. Rather than focusing on spectacular demonstrations, the company is pursuing volume sales and customer contracts.

Design

The humanoid upper body with two arms sits on a six-wheeled base. A lifting and tilting mechanism in the torso raises the robot to working heights of up to 2.4 metres and enables deep grasping. A total of 34 degrees of freedom are available. Sensitive force feedback in the arms and wrists enables firm gripping and careful handling of delicate components, even in cleanrooms.

Technology and AI

AlphaBot 2 is controlled by the in-house base model AlphaBrain with the GOVLA architecture, a vision-language-action model for the entire body and entire workspace. In June 2025, the company released FiS-VLA as an open-source version that outperformed international benchmark models.

Market Significance

Display manufacturer HKC ordered over 1,000 units valued at approximately 500 million yuan, distributed over three years. In June 2026, AI2 Robotics also raised 735 million US dollars at a valuation of around 2.8 billion, including from state-owned and industrial investors. This positions the company among the best-funded robotics start-ups in China.
