Overview

The Omni is a humanoid robot by X-Humanoid, Beijing's innovation hub for humanoid robotics. What stands out is its versatility in locomotion — the robot not only walks but also runs, jumps over obstacles, climbs uneven terrain, and crawls under low barriers.

Construction

Height is approximately 165 centimeters, weight between 55 to 75 kilograms. The Omni features 32 degrees of freedom and can lift objects weighing ten to twenty kilograms. A much-noted demonstration showed the transition from upright walking into a deep crawling position and back to standing.

Technology and AI

The robot achieves a walking speed of about three kilometers per hour and perceives its surroundings through HD and depth cameras. It features powerful onboard computers and operates on Linux and ROS.

Market Significance

X-Humanoid presents the Omni as a prototype that is not directly available. The company envisions demanding applications in industrial facilities, inspections, construction sites, and disaster relief.
