Overview
The H2 Plus is the research variant of the H2 humanoid from Unitree Robotics, based in Hangzhou, and was announced in early June 2026. Together with NVIDIA, the manufacturer positions it as an open reference platform: researchers in humanoid robotics should no longer have to source hardware, simulation, and models separately, but instead receive a complete stack from data collection to deployment on the robot. Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2026.
Design
At 182 centimeters tall and weighing around 70 kilograms, the H2 Plus remains within the range of an adult human. The body features 31 joint motors, distributed across six per leg, seven per arm, three in the torso, and two in the head. When including the optional five-fingered hands, Unitree achieves 75 degrees of freedom. The arm joints reach a peak torque of 120 newton-meters, while the leg joints reach 360. The manufacturer specifies aerospace aluminum, titanium alloy, and high-strength plastics as materials, with air cooling. Each arm carries seven kilograms during nominal operation and up to fifteen kilograms briefly.
Technology and AI
The centerpiece is an NVIDIA Jetson T5000 with Blackwell graphics processing unit, 2070 FP4-TFLOPS, a fourteen-core Arm processor, and 128 gigabytes of shared memory, operable between 40 and 130 watts as needed. In addition, there are two conventional x86 computers, one for platform functions and one for custom development. The head carries a stereo camera with 140 degrees horizontal and 102 degrees vertical field of view; ultra-wide angle cameras are optionally available at the wrists. The Sharpa hands are particularly noteworthy: 22 active degrees of freedom per hand, 30 kilograms load capacity, 150 newtons grip force, and over 1000 tactile sensing points per fingertip that resolve forces down to 0.005 newtons. On the software side, the platform is designed for Isaac GR00T, meaning teleoperation for data collection, open base models, training in simulation, and execution directly on the robot. The battery provides approximately three hours of operation.
Market Significance
Unitree went public on the Shanghai STAR exchange in August 2026 and ranks among the best-selling humanoid robot providers. The H2 Plus targets universities and research groups that previously had to choose between inexpensive but limited platforms and expensive custom solutions. The estimated price of around 100,000 US dollars is significantly higher than the production H2 model, but the robot comes with computing power, hands, and a software stack that would otherwise require a separate project.
