Realbotix from the USA is the only publicly traded provider selling an expressive head as a standalone product. The B-Series is the bust version, featuring head and neck on a stand base, without a body. The current face, called Aria, was unveiled in January 2025 at CES.

Construction

According to the manufacturer, over fourteen points move in the face. The skin is a patented silicone in human tone, plus a real wig. The special feature lies in modularity: the faces can be magnetically removed and swapped, and the device recognizes the attached face automatically. One head can thus represent multiple characters. The press reported 17 micromotors in the head and neck, though this figure is not officially confirmed by the manufacturer.

Technology and AI

Microcameras sit in the irises. Realbotix describes the software as AI-agnostic, meaning the head can be connected to different language models, plus an in-house conversational AI. The manufacturer provides no specifications regarding computing cores and battery on the product overview.

Market Significance

The B-Series starts at 20,000 USD, with the modular M-Series from 95,000 and the full-body F-Series from 125,000 USD. Realbotix indicates a delivery time of at least twelve weeks. The 20,000 USD price is noteworthy because it brings the bionic head to a price range accessible to smaller businesses and exhibitions for the first time.
