Overview

RoBee is a cognitive humanoid robot from Italian company Oversonic Robotics, founded in 2020. It is designed to support people in strenuous, repetitive, or dangerous tasks, combining autonomous navigation with the ability to make decisions and act independently.

Construction

RoBee measures 175 centimetres and weighs approximately 80 kilograms. It features humanoid hands, cameras, and a total of 40 movable joints. Through inductive charging, it achieves a battery life of up to eight hours. A range of sensors and a navigation algorithm based on depth cameras enable smooth movement through space.

Technology and AI

RoBee is offered in two versions, the R-Series for industry and the M-Series for health and rehabilitation sectors. The company describes RoBee as the only humanoid robot certified for both the industrial and healthcare sectors.

Market Significance

In early 2026, Oversonic entered the US market with RoBee. Additionally, the company signed an agreement with STMicroelectronics for the deployment of customised RoBee robots in several factories, with the first robot being deployed at the facility in Malta.
