Overview

The DH116 is not a full-body robot, but a dexterous robot hand from Chinese company OpenDroids. It is designed for precise object manipulation in robotics and research, and is suitable for both humanoid systems and prosthetic applications.

Design

The hand offers eleven degrees of freedom and a payload capacity of up to 30 kilograms. For tactile perception, 508 sensor points are integrated. In its standard configuration, 20 predefined gestures are available, allowing for rapid deployment.

Technology and AI

Communication is via EtherCAT. For integration, a comprehensive SDK is available for Windows version 10 and above, Linux, Ubuntu, and ROS, with support for C++ and Python. The hand was showcased at CES 2026 and is in production.

Market Significance

The DH116 joins a growing number of component manufacturers offering dexterous hands as supply parts for humanoid platforms and research projects.
