Overview

The DR02 is the second-generation humanoid robot from DEEP Robotics, a company founded in 2017 in Hangzhou. The company became known for its quadruped Jueying series robots, which operate in power grids, tunnels, and rescue operations. With the DR02, presented in October 2025, DEEP Robotics is transferring its experience with robust industrial platforms to a bipedal robot.

Construction

The DR02 is 175 centimeters tall and deliberately designed to be human-like so it can share tools and workspaces with humans. During normal operation, it walks at 1.5 meters per second, and when needed, it can reach up to four meters per second. Core components such as forearms, entire arms, and entire legs can be quickly removed and replaced, which reduces downtime and maintenance costs.

Technology and AI

The outstanding feature is the IP66 rating for the entire body. According to DEEP Robotics, the DR02 is the world's first humanoid robot that reliably works outdoors in rain, humidity, and dust. The operating range extends from minus 20 to plus 55 degrees Celsius, allowing the robot to be deployed from cold storage to hot factory floors. High onboard computing power is intended to enable future capability expansions.

Market Significance

With the DR02, DEEP Robotics is targeting applications where many humanoids have previously failed—namely outdoors and in harsh conditions. Security patrols, inspections, and load transport in industrial facilities are among the mentioned applications. The combination of weather-resistant design and human-like form sets the robot apart from models designed purely for indoor use.
