Overview

The A3 Ultra is the flagship model of AgiBot's A3 series, known as Zhiyuan Robotics in China, and was showcased on July 18, 2026 at WAIC in Shanghai. It was the centerpiece of a four-product launch, which also included the development platform X2 EDU, the heavy-duty task robot G2 Max, and the dexterous hand OmniHand 3 Ultra-M. Unlike the A3, which is tailored for stage performances, the Ultra version targets continuous operation in public-facing environments.

Construction

At 174 centimeters and 60 kilograms, the robot remains close to human proportions. AgiBot specifies 51 active degrees of freedom, significantly more than the base model, and a payload of five kilograms per arm. The company lists combined operating time of up to eight hours, with the robot capable of charging via cable, swapping batteries, or autonomously driving to a charging station.

Technology and AI

For perception, the A3 Ultra combines 3D LiDAR with RGB-D cameras, fisheye cameras, and stereo vision. For localization, it adds GPS, RTK, and UWB to enable navigation and coordinated operation of multiple units in changing environments. An NVIDIA Thor handles the computational load for embodied AI. AgiBot integrates the model into its own architecture, which treats locomotion, interaction, and manipulation as a single system.

Market Significance

AgiBot reported shipping its 15,000th robot in June 2026, making it one of the largest manufacturers in the industry by unit volume. During the trade show, over 60 of the company's own robots were in operation on the grounds, including visitor guidance and information services. This is precisely what the A3 Ultra targets: not one-time performances, but shifts that can be repeated daily.
