Overview

The Martian is a bipedal universal humanoid from Chinese company UniX AI. It is designed for demanding tasks in environments built for humans, combining stable locomotion with bimanual manipulation and AI-powered perception.

Construction

Body height is adjustable between approximately 1420 and 1680 millimeters, with a lift system in the torso providing additional flexibility. According to the manufacturer, the centerpiece consists of the first series-produced bionic arms, each with eight degrees of freedom. Together they can carry up to twelve kilograms, reach just under one meter, and work with a repeatability of half a millimeter. UniX AI specifies battery runtime at eight to sixteen hours.

Technology and AI

The Martian perceives its surroundings via RGB and depth cameras, a microphone array, a 360-degree LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors. For orientation, SLAM-based navigation is used, complemented by multimodal, semantic detection of key points.

Market Significance

UniX AI positions the Martian for material flow in background operations, tool-assisted work at workstations, and inspection rounds. The bipedal design is intended to give it access to stairs, narrow passages, and multi-story buildings.
