Overview

The Walker S2 is the humanoid robot from Chinese manufacturer UBTECH and was introduced in 2025. Its key feature is the ability to automatically swap its own battery, enabling nearly uninterrupted operation.

Construction

The robot stands approximately 176 centimetres tall and weighs around 43 kilograms, making it comparatively lightweight. It features 52 degrees of freedom and a dual battery system comprising two 48-volt batteries. When one battery runs empty, the robot independently navigates to a charging station and swaps the module in under three minutes.

Technology and AI

The Walker S2 achieves a walking speed of roughly two metres per second and can carry loads of up to 15 kilograms. The torso can rotate more than 160 degrees, expanding the robot's working range.

Market Significance

Since the start of mass production in November 2025, UBTECH has been significantly ramping up deliveries and is targeting several thousand units for 2026. Thanks to autonomous battery swapping, the robot is particularly suited for continuous industrial operation.
