Overview

The SVH is not a full-body machine, but an anthropomorphic five-finger gripper hand from the German company Schunk. It is modeled after the human hand and is used in service robotics, research, and human-robot interaction.

Design

The hand features a total of 20 joints driven by nine actuators. Elastic gripping surfaces ensure secure grip. The complete control, regulation, and power electronics are integrated into the wrist, resulting in a particularly compact design. The SVH is available in left-handed and right-handed versions and operates at 24 volts DC.

Technology and AI

Thanks to the many moving parts, various gripping operations can be performed with high sensitivity. Defined interfaces allow connection to common industrial and collaborative robots, making the hand suitable for teleoperation and for experiments in embodied AI.
