Overview

The D7 is Pudu Robotics' first semi-humanoid industrial robot and was unveiled on June 1, 2026. The Shenzhen-based company is primarily known as a provider of service robots for the gastronomy and hospitality sectors, and with the D7 it is venturing into industrial automation. Instead of moving on two legs, the robot operates on a mobile base, but combines this with a human-like upper body.

Construction

The D7 measures 165 centimeters in height and weighs 45 kilograms. It features 30 degrees of freedom, which can be extended to up to 50 with specialized hands. Each of the two arms has a reach of 65 centimeters and can lift up to 10 kilograms, with endpoint accuracy of 0.1 millimeter. Perception is provided by a front and rear LiDAR as well as tactile sensors that capture contact force and pressure in real time. According to the manufacturer, a single charge provides more than eight hours of operation.

Technology and AI

At the core is the proprietary foundation model PuduFM 1.0, which aims to combine scenario-based intelligence, reasoning with large models, and practical business value. With this, the D7 handles tasks such as material transport, sorting, or operating elevators. The combination of dual-arm manipulation, autonomous mobility, and tactile feedback is tailored to typical factory workflows.

Market Significance

With the D7, Pudu is expanding its portfolio from service robotics into manufacturing. The robot targets tasks requiring mobility and fine touch, such as inventory management or flexible machine loading. Pudu thus joins the growing group of Chinese manufacturers seeking to bring humanoid and semi-humanoid platforms into industrial practice.
