Overview

The PR-34D is a semi-humanoid dual-arm system from Perceptyne, an Indian start-up based in Hyderabad. It is designed for demanding assembly and packaging tasks that conventional industrial robots struggle to handle. This is not a full-body robot with legs, but rather a fixed-mounted manipulation system.

Design

The PR-34D features two arms with seven degrees of freedom each and dexterous grippers with ten degrees of freedom, enabling bilateral complex tasks. The system is not designed for heavy lifting, but rather for precision and dexterity, such as component assembly, quality inspections, and handling delicate objects.

Technology and AI

The robot is equipped with tactile, force, and vision-based sensors that provide it with precise perception of object position and location as well as obstacles.

Market Significance

Perceptyne targets the automotive and electronics manufacturing sectors, with initial pilot projects underway with major multinational corporations. While the first deployments are taking place in India, the start-up is targeting the USA and Europe as its primary markets. The PR-34D was named a finalist in the Humanoid Robotics Industry Awards 2025 in the breakthrough technology category.
