Overview

Hobbs is a robot head product line from Noetix Robotics, founded in Beijing in September 2023. At its core is a biomimetic head designed to replicate human facial expressions with remarkable realism. Based on this foundation, Noetix has developed several variants, including the mobile models Hobbs W0 and W1.

Design and Construction

The biomimetic head of Hobbs features up to 32 active and 8 passive degrees of freedom and can express emotions such as joy, anger, or sadness. The head weighs approximately 18 kilograms with dimensions of roughly 40 by 30 by 60 centimeters. The mobile variant Hobbs W1 complements the head with two robotic arms, each with five degrees of freedom, dexterous hands, and a rolling mobile platform.

Technology and AI

The head is equipped with two GPUs of 8 GB each, enabling deep reinforcement learning for interaction and perception. The W-models are designed for reception, wayfinding, and customer service, and are intended to interact in a human-like manner.

Market Significance

With Hobbs, Noetix primarily targets education, research, and light service sectors. In October 2025, the company secured a Pre-B funding round of nearly 300 million yuan, followed by a Pre-B-Plus round of nearly 200 million yuan in November 2025.
