Overview

Bumi is the entry-level humanoid from Beijing-based startup Noetix Robotics and was unveiled in October 2025. At 94 centimeters tall and weighing around twelve kilograms, it has a child-sized form factor that a child can lift by themselves. At a price of 9,998 Yuan, roughly 1,400 US dollars, it became the first freely available humanoid under the 10,000 Yuan mark.

Construction

Over 21 degrees of freedom are distributed across the legs, hips, torso, and arms, sufficient for stable walking, waving, and dancing routines. The modular design allows individual parts to be easily replaced if damaged. A 48-volt rechargeable battery provides power for one to two hours of operation.

Technology and AI

A front camera recognizes objects and faces, microphones capture voice commands. Walking was trained using a combination of imitation learning and reinforcement learning. Programming is done via a graphical drag-and-drop interface, specifically opening the robot up for schools and beginners; open interfaces provide flexibility for experienced users.

Market Significance

The sales launch on the JD.com platform became a considerable success: over 100 units in the first hour, around 500 within two days. Noetix Robotics, founded in 2023 by graduates of Tsinghua and Zhejiang universities, thereby pushes the price threshold for humanoids into consumer range and places further pressure on Western competitors.
