Overview

Limx Oli is the universal full-body humanoid from Limx Dynamics in Shenzhen and was released for pre-order in late July 2025. The robot is primarily aimed at universities, research laboratories, and developer teams seeking an open platform for custom applications. With an entry price starting at 158,000 RMB, approximately 21,800 USD, it ranks among the more affordable full-size humanoids.

Construction

The standard variants Lite and EDU measure 165 centimeters and weigh up to 55 kilograms, offering 31 active degrees of freedom, including seven per arm, three in the waist, and two in the neck. The Super version grows to 175 centimeters and 43 degrees of freedom, carries 5 instead of 3 kilograms per arm, and delivers a maximum joint torque of 250 newton-meters. Depending on the configuration level, two-finger grippers, three-finger grippers, or five-finger hands are mounted.

Technology and AI

Oli runs at speeds up to 5 kilometers per hour and lasts approximately two hours on a single charge; in the Super version, battery modules can be swapped during operation. Depth cameras in the head and chest, optionally supplemented with Lidar and wrist cameras, provide perception, with computation handled by RK3588 and Nvidia Orin hardware. Limx provides APIs for low-level and high-level control, OTA updates, and a Studio package for data collection and simulation.

Market Significance

Limx Dynamics is established with the bipedal TRON platforms and the display robot Luna, positioning Oli as an affordable workhorse for the developer community. For 2026, the company has announced broader availability, including in the USA and the Middle East. The aggressive pricing puts competitors in the research platform segment under pressure.
