The Futurist is a humanoid robot from US-based Faraday Future, previously known primarily as an electric vehicle manufacturer before entering the robotics sector in early 2026. The robot was first unveiled in February 2026, with a revised version following in mid-June 2026.

Design

The robot reaches a height of approximately 173 centimeters with a weight of about 55 kilograms. It features 31 degrees of freedom. Peak torque at the knee joint reaches around 320 Newton-meters, with a maximum speed of approximately 18 kilometers per hour.

Technology and AI

Faraday Future markets the Futurist as the first full-size humanoid from the US with native support for full-body motion control NVIDIA Sonic. A new dual-battery system with 1152 watt-hours is designed to enable operation times of up to six hours. A variant planned for later in 2026 is expected to utilize the NVIDIA Jetson Thor chip.

Market Significance

The original Futurist was offered starting at around 34,990 US dollars, intended for tasks such as event hosting and reception assistance.
