Overview

DexBot is a humanoid robot platform developed by BOSHIAC in collaboration with Harbin Institute of Technology. It is designed for industrial use in factories and warehouses and is currently primarily in the research and prototype stage.

Construction

DexBot employs a modular concept that allows optional operation on legs or wheels to adapt to different environments. The robot uses high-torque joints and advanced arms as well as a dexterous hand with which it is intended to grasp tools and handle heavier objects.

Technology and AI

BOSHIAC and participating laboratories are working on control systems that allow DexBot to learn from experience. The goal is to reduce manual intervention and enable the robot to adapt to new situations.

Market Significance

DexBot is not freely available for purchase. The project represents the aspiration to go beyond conventional wheel-based robots and fixed robotic arms and to create a more flexible platform for real industrial tasks.
