Apollo is the humanoid robot from US-based Apptronik, based in Austin, Texas. It is designed as a universal machine for real industrial environments and is primarily targeted at logistics and production. Apptronik emphasizes safe collaboration between humans and machines.

Construction

Apollo is approximately 173 centimeters tall and weighs around 73 kilograms. It can carry a payload of up to 25 kilograms and uses interchangeable battery packs. An empty pack can be swapped out instead of shutting down the robot for a prolonged charging break.

Technology and AI

A single battery pack is sufficient for approximately four hours of operation. The modular design allows for various modes of operation, from stationary use to bipedal walking.

Market Significance

Apptronik is regarded as one of the prominent American providers in the competition for industrial humanoid robots and works with industrial partners on concrete applications. The robot is thus at the threshold from pilot operation to broader deployment.
