With the AKINCI-5, Turkey introduced its first industrial humanoid in June 2026. It is built by AKINROBOTICS in Konya, which according to the company is the world's first factory for humanoid robots. The AKINCI-5 continues a long development line that began with earlier models such as AKINCI-2 and AKINCI-P. The machine is currently undergoing testing and is being demonstrated publicly.

Construction

The AKINCI-5 is a human-sized robot with two arms and a humanoid head. Light-colored body panels and metallic joints at the shoulders, elbows, and knees are visible. The focus of the latest generation is on stable, AI-driven gait and secure balance.

Technology and AI

AKINROBOTICS develops hardware and software in-house and uses a proprietary operating system for its robots. With the AKINCI-5, the emphasis is on AI-driven locomotion, dynamic balance, and human interaction. The manufacturer has not yet fully disclosed detailed specifications.

Market Significance

For Turkey, the AKINCI-5 is a signal of its intention to compete in a field previously dominated by the United States and China. AKINROBOTICS is part of the AKINSOFT software group and has been building its own robot family for years. The company cites manufacturing, logistics, and mining as application areas.
