Overview

Digit is the humanoid robot from Agility Robotics in Oregon and one of only a few already operating in real-world deployment. It is used at Amazon, Toyota, and logistics provider GXO, among others, where it takes on actual warehouse tasks beyond pilot projects.

Design

The robot is approximately 175 centimeters tall and weighs about 65 kilograms. Notable is the leg construction, whose knee joints bend backward, resembling bird-like legs. The payload capacity is approximately 16 kilograms, with a future generation expected to increase this value significantly.

Technology and AI

Digit specializes in moving containers and packages and can work in existing warehouse environments with existing infrastructure. Agility is also working toward functional safety certification so the robot can be deployed directly alongside humans.

Market Significance

With its own manufacturing facility RoboFab in Salem, Oregon, Agility established production capacity for series manufacturing early on. This makes Digit one of the most commercialized humanoid robots in the logistics sector.
